Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province Chairs the Fourth Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Darin and Tarout Island Development Authority

His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Darin and Tarout Island Development Authority, chaired today (Tuesday) the fourth meeting of the Authority’s Board of Directors at the headquarters of the Eastern Province Development Authority in Al Khobar, in the presence of Their Excellencies and Distinguished Members of the Board.

During the meeting, His Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz emphasized the importance of the efforts being made to develop Darin and Tarout Island in line with an ambitious vision focused on enhancing its economic, heritage, and tourism potential. He noted that these efforts contribute to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by leveraging the island’s historical and environmental assets and enhancing the quality of life there.

His Highness explained that the Authority is working to revitalize the island’s historical and environmental sites, in line with the aspirations of the wise leadership and its unwavering support for the development and growth of all regions and governorates of the Kingdom.

The Acting CEO of the Authority, Abdullah bin Misfar Al-Qahtani, stated that the Board reviewed the progress of institutional development, including the governance of the Authority’s operations, as well as the progress of studies being carried out in collaboration with the Eastern Province Development Authority. These include the island’s Detailed Master Plan, as well as the rehabilitation of Darin Palace and its surrounding area, in line with the approved development direction, which aims to establish the island as a tourism destination and create a unique visitor experience by maximizing the potential of its historical and environmental sites.

Al-Qahtani highlighted the support and close follow-up of His Highness the Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province and Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors, as well as the collaboration and integration of efforts among various entities to achieve the island’s development objectives and fulfill the leadership’s vision of establishing comprehensive and sustainable development.
